One of the most dramatic sights in Torres del Pines is Grey Glacier at the northern end of Lago Grey.

This large glacier (104 sq miles in area, 17 miles long) is a significant part of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field that flows along the border of Chile and Argentina.

When the area's unpredictable weather is favorable. a boat ride that weaves past icebergs takes passengers to the face of the Glacier. Areas of global warming are most noticeable.

Equally spectacular are the gigantic blue icebergs, broken off from the Glacier, that come to rest rest along the shore of Lago Grey.
